Event Climate Change Impacts in the Czech-German Elbe River Basin

The conference will focus on climate change impacts in the Czech-German Elbe river basin and introduce current research work of Czech and German scientists.

Results on analyses of the global change effects on the water quantity and water quality management and their socio-economic impacts in the Elbe region will be presented. These results were obtained within the project GLOWA-Elbe.

GLOWA-Elbe, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, identifies, investigates and models change processes that have an adverse effect on the water cycle and thus on people and nature. The aim is to develop strategies that can be applied today and in the future to mitigate the region’s vulnerability to global climate change. To serve decision making in industry, government and administration, and also by other stakeholders, strategies will be identified that can contribute to sustainable water management in the project region.
