The European Union has committed to cut CO₂ emissions by 80 to 95% by 2050. Underpinning this commitment, EIB loans help to implement this EU objective. As one of the largest financiers of renewable energy in Europe, the EIB’s Regional Forum will provide a platform to identify opportunities and policy implications for realising synergies between green growth initiatives, programs and projects in South East Europe, the Balkans and the Mediterranean.

The conference agenda features a number of high-level speakers, members of regulatory bodies and leading representatives of the energy sector as well as the European business world to represent a full range of expertise. The plenary sessions will be followed by case studies showing best practice examples in renewable energy projects and urban development. The EIB regional forum in Athens will be the event for those who wish to make investments in the environment, a driver for economic growth and success.

This conference addresses commercial and industrial companies, banks and financial institutions, engineers, managers and specialists, renewable energy companies, policy makers and regulators, representatives of Ministries and Governments, academia as well as environmental professionals.

Travel and accommodation

The EIB does not arrange accommodation for conference delegates. Rooms at the Hilton Hotel are available at a special conference rate of 179 € per night. You need to be a registered participant in order to get delegate rates. Deadline for bookings at reduced rate is 5 October 2011.
