First Palestinian Water Forum

The Institute of Environmental and Water Studies (IEWS) of Birzeit University will host the Palestinian Water Forum, which will be held on 26th of May 2014 at Birzeit University.

The Forum will explore the priority needs of the Palestinian water sector, with a special focus on the water & energy nexus and private sector participation. It will provide opportunity, to all stakeholders working in the water and energy sector, to discuss current obstacles and opportunities.

IEWS is seeking for proposals for presentations and panel discussion members from the public and private sector, research institutes, NGO’s and donor community. We invite presentations highlighting issues relating to the following themes.

1. Water and Energy: Gaza crisis and obstacles in (waste water treatment, reuse, and desalination)
2. Private sector participation: Roles and responsibilities, risk mitigation and the future of PPP’s
3. National Research Agenda: How can research support the national sector needs?
