EWA/BWA Workshop on Capacity Development in the Water Sector
This year from 27 to 28 November 2008, The European Water Association, together with the Bulgarian Water Association and the German Water, Wastewater and Waste Association, organises a Workshop on "Capacity Development in the Water Sector". The workshop will take place in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Capacity development is the key to development effectiveness. For development to be effective strengthening local institutions and changing institutional practices, investing and building on human capital become vitally important.
This workshop is targeted to water utilities and to representatives of the respective governmental institutions. In the case studies presented and the experience shared with other EU and Balkan countries on the matter will lead to fruitful discussions and better development planning.
