Event Sustainable Use of Water in Agriculture: Indicators and Trends for Water Resources Conservation

The third training course Marie Curie, reserved for researchers from across Europe as part of the project European Sustainable Water Goals, will be held in Venice October 5 to 9 at the Center ECLT University, Palazzo Minich. The seminar, focusing on sustainable use of water resources in agriculture, is funded by the European Commission within the Sixth Framework Program and is organized by the Department of Environmental Sciences of Ca 'Foscari University in collaboration with the International Center for Water Culture . The European Union (following the selection of candidates) to reimburse the costs of participation in research with at least a university degree and professionals.

European Sustainable Water Goals (ESWG 2007-2010) is a conference programme on sustainable water management which pays special attention to European water policies The proposed series of four conferences will lead to a significant step forward in the application of models of integrated water management in line with the WFD Water Framework Directive 2000/60) and will constitute a great opportunity for a comparison between the different approaches undertaken by various MSs for a correct Water Framework Directive implementation. Addressed to PhD candidates and graduate students (0-4 years of experience after graduation), and a limited number of experienced researchers (4-10 years of experience), ESWG will represent a most valuable opportunity to establish a point of contact between leading experts and researchers which are expected to bring back the result of their training to their national scientific contexts. Providing an opportunity for a joint intensive training on new models and methodologies related to integrated water management, the events will represent therefore a true investment not only for a timely and successful implementation of the WFD in different member states, but also for the future career of the eligible researchers, in a field that at present has been partially underestimated in the framework of national research strategies.
