New SciDev.Net Website
A new version of the SciDev.Net website has been launched, with a fresh
appearance and improved navigation.
The new website also offers some exciting new features to you as a
registered user. In particular, these include:
Email updates for specific topics or regions, in Chinese, English, French or
Spanish, with summary or full-text options. New commenting facility for
expressing your opinion on individual articles.
To make use of these facilities, please visit the website as soon as you
can, update your details, and select the new services you would like to
use.
New editorial features include:
Topic gateways
The website now has six topic gateways, and over 80 sub-topics, making it
easier to find information relating to your interests.
Topic gateways are as follows:
**AGRICULTURE & ENVIRONMENT http://www.scidev.net/agri-env
**CLIMATE CHANGE & ENERGY http://www.scidev.net/climate-energy

New language portals
We have introduced comprehensive language portals containing the headlines
and brief summaries of all articles posted on the website in Chinese, French
and Spanish, as well as English. And we've established a coding system to
make it clearer what languages our articles are available in. We are now
working towards introducing more Chinese, French and Spanish content.
Commenting on articles & contacting the network
Our new comment facility means you can now express your views on individual
articles and respond to (and get in touch with) other users who have
commented too.
Searching the website
An improved search function allows you to search by keyword, author,
organisation, region, topic and sub-topic.
Sharing articles
You can now quickly and easily share articles with friends and colleagues
using not only our existing forwarding service, but also using social
bookmarking options such as Del.icio.us, Digg, and Facebook.
Web feeds
Individual RSS feeds are now available to feed selected region or topic
related content direct to your website or desktop.
