National SMAP RMSU Clearing House Meetings

On the basis of the conclusions of the  meeting on "Environmental Knowledge and Information Exchange in the Mediterranean",  organized last December in Rome by  the SMAP RMSU project,  APAT and SYKE the project consortium partners, are in the process of  organizing the closing phase activities of the SMAP Clearing House,  hosted by the EEA.

APAT is thus contacting the partner organizations of the SMAP Clearing House to organize with them small national working meetings in interested MEDA countries in order to valorise the work carried out during the past years and to continue to facilite the needed  efforts to mainstream  information exchange mechanisms in the Mediterranean region thus contributing to the objectives of  the monitoring and reporting component of  H2020.

These national meetings will also assist  the Clearing House partner organizations in reviewing  existing reporting mechanisms and related tools, thus promoting a stronger dialog among the various players at  national level, a key condition for a more effective regional cooperation.

Therefore, APAT encourage the active participation of the respective National Contact Persons from the relevant MAP components,  as well as MEDSTAT Environment and H2020.

The results of these final project activities are also intended to reinforce the catalyzing role of  the  international  key players in the region, as highlighted in the conclusions of the Rome meeting.  Your support is essential for the success of these meetings by bringing in your most recent experiences and plans for improving information exchange and reporting,  highlighting the opportunities for convergence at national and regional level.
