News Senior Water Resources Specialist

The Water and Sanitation Program (WSP), is a multi-donor trust funded program administered by the World Bank, comprising a field-based network of over 70 professionals based in four regional teams (Africa, East Asia, Latin America, and South Asia) managed from a small headquarters team in Washington, DC. The WSP-Africa regional team (WSP-AF) has its HQ in Nairobi, with sub-regional hubs in Maputo and Dakar, and an expanding number of country offices.

The seconded staff will have extensive experience in Water Supply and Sanitation (rural, small town and urban utility management) with special emphasis on domestic private sector participation in water supply and sanitation services management. This is to assist WSP-AF clients put in place policies and enabling framework for the development of the domestic private sector Domestic Private Sector refers to local private sector as opposed to international private operators. participation in water supply and sanitation services management, consistent with our strategy to improve services to the poor. The position will play a leading role in WSP-AF's regional and sub-regional knowledge management activities on supporting Domestic Sector Participation (DPSP) in urban and rural sub sectors, as well as small towns, in the Africa region (East, West, Central and South). Fluency in both French and English is required.
