ENPI CBC-Med: Call for strategic projects launched

The Joint Managing Authority is pleased to announce that the call for strategic projects is now officially open (determination N. 48/1066 of 05/05/2011). 

€ 62,4 million are available for cross-border cooperation projects focusing on the six following topics under Programme Priorities 1 and 2. 

Priority 1 (€ 37,44 million) 
- Agro-food industry
- Sustainable tourism
- Integrated coastal zone management

Priority 2 (€ 24,96 million) 
- Water management
- Waste treatment and recycling
- Solar energy

The Terms of Reference of each topic and main rules are detailed in the text of the call and in the Guidelines for Applicants. 

The call for strategic projects is a two-stage procedure: 
1. In a first instance Applicants shall submit a Concept Note 
2. Only the projects preselected following the evaluation of the Concept Notes will be invited to submit a Full Application Form 

The deadline for sending the Concept Notes is set on 14th July 2011.

Minor modifications to the Guidelines for Applicants

The JMA informs (determination n. 62/1308 of 30/05/2011) that the Guidelines for Applicants, published together with the call for strategic projects on 5th May 2011, have been slightly modified in order to ensure the full compliance between the English and French versions.

National seminar in Marseille

French partners are invited to participate in a national seminar to be held in Marseille on 6th June. 

The seminar has a double objective: 
• overview of the main features of the Terms of Reference of the call for strategic projects 
• answers to questions raised by project applicants in the framework of the preparation of their proposals 

The afternoon will be dedicated for contacts between project applicants and the French national coordination of the Programme. 

Organisation of the seminar: 
• from 10.00 to 12.30 (plenary session) in “Salle de Commission permanente” 
• from 14.00 to 16.00 (contacts with projects) in rooms 5 and 6 

Venue: Conseil régional Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur - Hôtel de région 
27 place Jules Guesde, Marseille

Important notice for Applicants of the call for strategic projects: duration of projects

According to a recent revision of article 43 of the Commission Regulation (EC) No 951/2007 of 9 August 2007 laying down implementing rules for cross-border cooperation programmes, theeligibility period for projects activities is extended until 31 December 2015. 

As a consequence, the maximum duration of project proposals that will be submitted under the ongoing call for strategic projects might be up to 36 months. 

This notification is compliant with the provision of footnote number 10 of the Guidelines for Grant Applicants “the duration up to 36 months is conditional to the notification of the extension of the eligibility period to 31 December 2015 by the European Commission; Applicants will be informed accordingly through the programme web site”.
