News ENPI CBC-MED: Results of the Joint Monitoring Committee, Marseille (13-14/04/2011)

Following the decision taken by the 14 participating countries during the fourth Joint Monitoring Committee (Marseille, 13th and 14th April 2011), the ENPI CBC Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme will launch a call for strategic projects during the first half of May. The Annual Work Programme for Grants (published here on 30th March)

The call will focus on 6 topics, as follows: 
• Agro-food industry 
• Sustainable tourism 
• Integrated coastal zone management 
• Waste treatment and recycling 
• Water management 
• Solar energy 


The procedure to apply for a grant consists of two phases: 
1. Submission of a Concept Note; 
2. Presentation of a Full Application Form (only for preselected Concept Notes). 


Resources allocated to the call are € 62,4 million.

Total eligible costs of strategic projects shall be comprised between € 2.000.000 and € 5.000.000 and the duration between 24 and 36 months. 

Partnerships promoting a strategic project shall represent a minimum of 4 participating countries, including at least 1 EU Mediterranean Country and 1 Mediterranean Partner Country. 

Information events on the call will be organised in the cooperation area. Exact locations and dates will be soon published on the Programme website.

Countries having signed the Financing Agreement
The following partner countries have signed a Financing Agreement with the European Commission by 31st December 2009 (deadline set by article 10.3 of Regulation (EC) No 951/2007 laying down implementing rules for ENPI cross-border cooperation programmes): 
- Egypt 
- Israel 
- Jordan 
- Lebanon 
- Palestinian Authority 
- Syria 
- Tunisia.

These countries are now fully eligible to receive Programme funds. 
All the Financing Agreements have been countersigned by the Joint Managing Authority.
