EMWIS at the Kick-off meeting of the 2nd Mediterranean Water Forum

When holding the 1st Mediterranean Water Forum on 19-20 December 2011 in Marrakesh (Morocco), the main stakeholders from the Mediterranean water and environmental community had launched a call to organize the 2nd Mediterranean Water Forum.

 During the Mediterranean Session held in Marseille at the 6th World Water Forum in March 2012, the President of the Region of Murcia, Mr. Luis Ramon Varcarcel, suggested to host and organize this second event in Murcia (Spain) that will take place towards next November 2014.

 For this reason, the Institut Méditerranéen de l’Eau (IME) and the Foundation Euro-Mediterranean Water Institute (F-IEA) organized the Kick-off meeting of the 2nd Mediterranean Water Forum, with the support of the Kingdom of Morocco, under the aegis of the Ministry of Energy, Mines, Water and Environment, on June 18th, 2014 in Rabat, Morocco, with the presence of the Moroccan Minister of water: Mrs. Charafat AFAILAL.

EMWIS has participated in this event through Mr. Eric MINO, EMWIS Technical Unit Coordinator.

On this occasion, the Mediterranean preparatory process of the 7th World Water Forum was launched by organizing its first meeting of the Steering Committee this day.
