5th ENPI-SEIS Steering Committee meeting
The 5th ENPI-SEIS Steering Committee meeting gathered together representatives of South and East Neighbourhood countries of the EU, the European Commission, regional partners and the European Environment Agency in Copenhagen for 2 intensive days of discussions, 16-17 September. For the Mediterranean area, UNEP-MAP, UfM, CEDARE, IME and EMWIS contributed to the debate. The main achievement for the region is the H2020 Mediterranean Report delivered for the last Ministerial meeting on Environment of the Union for the Mediterranean in June 2014 in Athens. This report review environmental progress in the three priorities selected for the depolution of the Mediterranean sea: municipal solid waste, urban waste water and industrial pollution. The preparation of the next phase 2015-2020 has been discussed, including synergies with the project of Mediterranean Water Knowledge Platform.
