News Call for applicants: production of policy factsheets on sustainable tourism in the Mediterranean

In the framework of the Interreg MED Project BleuTourMed – Maritime and Coastal Sustainable Tourism in the Mediterranean four calls for experts on the topic of  Sustainable Tourism in the Mediterranean have been launched.

The objective of these calls for applicants is to select four experts (one for each identified issue) to draft a policy factsheet upon one of the topics listed below.

  • Monitoring the sustainability of tourism: what are the knowledge gaps of policy-making processes? How to bridge the data gaps on tourism?
  • How to reduce the environmental-cultural- social impacts of tourism in the Mediterranean region?
  • How can the tourism sector ensure a sustainable and responsible economic growth and prosperity in the Mediterranean region?
  • How to address the complexity of the tourism sector, including local actors, decision-makers and consumers? Governance mechanisms to guide a wide variety of stakeholders towards a more sustainable and responsible tourism.

Each policy factsheet will be a key tool for an integrated advocacy activity addressed to the different Euro-Mediterranean policy-makers, and will contribute to the final policy paper of the project BleuTourMed.

Applications must be submitted no later than 18th September 2018 and must contain a letter of interest with clear mention of the factsheet the expert is applying for, a CV and an economic offer making reference to the Terms of Reference for this call.
