Jordan's Pathway Towards Sustainability: Implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Jordan faces several pressing environmental challenges. This is why it’s important to implement SDG 6 (access to water and sanitation for all), SDG 7 (access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all), and SDG 13 (urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts).
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were adopted during a high-level plenary meeting of the UN General Assembly on 27 September 2015. The 17 goals are officially known under the title ‘Transforming Our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development’ and are the culmination of a three-year process aimed at synthesising the environmental, social and economic dimensions of development worldwide.
