Nature Based Solutions for Circular Cities
The Cost Action Circular City community is preparing a review paper on the state of art related transforming tools for implementing Natural Bases Solution (NBS) in Circular Cities, one of the 5 topics of the Cost Action CA17133. Partners met in Ljubljana on the 28 and 29 of March 2019 to work on this review paper and plan activities for the coming years. They updated the definition of NBS in this context: “concepts that bring nature into cities and those that are derived from nature. NBS address societal challenges and enable resource recovery, climate mitigation and adaptation challenges, human well-being, ecosystem restoration and/or improved biodiversity status, within the urban ecosystems.”, as well as different study levels micro (household level), meso (district level) and macro (city level or above). Two summer schools are planed: " Water Engineering and Global Diplomacy for Sustainable Cities", 18-28 June 2019, Piran, Slovenia and Landscape management for improved integration of nature-based solutions" in 30 September - 4 October 2019, Paola, Malta
