A WASH Emergency Program Manager
Length of contract: 3 months starting as soon as possible (renewable)
The context: Since the middle of 2013, the Jordanian borders have in effect been closed, which marked the start of a small number of asylum seekers starting to settle near the North Eastern border. From October 2015, displaced Syrians (mainly from Homs, Aleppo and Daraa) started amassing on the North Eastern Jordanian border seeking refuge in the country. Specifically, the displaced people have been settling on a small strip of land referred to as the Berm. To date, estimates indicate that more than 50,000 people live in harsh conditions with very little access to humanitarian assistance. This situation may be currently considered as one of the most acute crisis in the world.
The position: Under the supervision of the Field Manager, you will be responsible to implement high quality and relevant WASH activities with a high coverage, in conformity with overarching strategy and the standards set internationally, by ACF and by national policies
The applicant: You hold a Civil Engineering or Hydrogeology master Degree or equivalent and you have a significant experience at least 3 years minimum in WaSH activities in emergency situations
Recognized for your ability to manage stress in complicated security environment
You are also able to conduct rapid assessment and to coordinate with authorities, UN agencies and INGO/NGO.
Fluent in English required. Arabic would be a plus
Status: Salaried – Gross monthly salary ranging from €1600 to €1975
Food and hygiene expenses, per diem, transportation costs, collective accommodation and medical insurance
25 days of annual paid leaves, 20 days of rest and recuperation (R&R) per year and extra recovery days after 6 weeks.
